looking for a sweet new ride...not a car
#1
hey, i'm new here - i've been looking for reviews on boards and came across this site, anyways i'm looking to upgrade my board - i'm looking for an all mountain board that's geared towards freestyle, i'm 5'9 around 155 size 9 boots. i've been looking at Rome Solution, Option Makinen, Arbor A-Frame, Ride Timeless, Nitro Team, and GNU Rider's Choice - i've heard great things about all these boards, i was just wondering which ones you guys thought were the best of the bunch. any recommendations would be awesome -thanks in advance

You take take the Arbor A-Frame and they Ride Timeless off that list, those are both freeride boards.

The Makninen and the Solution are both amazing boards though. If you want a few more options, look into a Never Summer SL, and a Capita BSOD.

Isn't the Dominant a park board? Definately not a good all mountain board. I'd say if you stuck with either the Solution, SL, BSOD, or the Makinen, you will own a sick ride.

I told the guy at the snowboard shop I was looking for an allmountian board, and he said maybe the Dominant, or some other ones. Idk, thats what he said.

Take it to the street.

With a design driven by Ryan Lougee, we’ve tweaked the flex, making the Dominant™ stiffer in the center and the tail for increased jib control, ollie power and butterability. The light and durable Super Fly® core packs shocking energy through transitions without being squirrelly on steep, icy landings. For 06, we de-bossed the supple leather topsheet for even smoother Dom-A-Ducci style.

TECH & FEATURES
Lightspeed™ Vision Base
Super Fly® Core
Biax™ Fiberglass
Dualzone™ EGD™
Negative Core Profile
10:45™ Sidewalls
NEW Directional Flex Pattern

I watched the sandbox movie today, and some guy had the dominant. He was good at street, but he also was doing some backcountry riding with it too.

well sure. but any guy working at a shop should know that a snowboard with a flex of 5 is not the best choice when someone asks him about a good all mountain board.

Just because a pro was using it for some backcountry doesn't make it a good all mountain board. There are TONS of boards out there much better suited for all mountain riding than a Dominant.

hey, just got the board a couple of days ago, man the graphics are really sweet looking - gonna try it out this weekend - gotta question though, my last board was a burton and it had the 3d binding thing and it only required 3 screws, and i can't find my extra screws so i only have 3 in - should that be okay to ride on? just don't wanna crap things up
