Westbeach Upper Levels - warmth
Posted by: tommot82 - 02-14-2012, 06:06 AM - Forum: General - No Replies

I want to replace my pants and I am thinking of getting the Westbeach Upper Levels. Can anyone tell me how warm they are to ride in?

I LOVE my old pants but sadly they have a tear in them (i think they were made by "Special"?!?!?!)... I only ever ride in the pants, no base layer, even on the coldest days.

Can i expect the same from the upper levels or are they just an outer layer without much lining?

Thanks
-tom

  FS:2009 CaPiTa Horrorscope FK 151 w/Ride Contraband bindings w/Boots
Posted by: alpinebine - 07-28-2010, 05:44 PM - Forum: Classifieds - No Replies

I have for sale a 2009 Capita Horrorscope FK 151. It was used for one season, about 6 or 7 times. There are a few scratches from jibbing and grinding, but that is all and a new wax job would cover it up in a heart beat. It is in very good condition. It is purely a freestyle board and you can butter with the best of them with it. It comes with a pair of Ride Contraband bindings, M/L size and either a pair of Rome boots 9.5 or DC Park boots 10.5. The total package was over 800 and it has barely been used. But I am moving to Florida in a few weeks and need to get rid of it, so throw me some offers, no trades please. This board is SICK, but since there is no snow in florida, it would be pointless for it to sit in my attic in PA for 2 or more years and I would much rather sell it so someone else could experience it..

Creation Theory from Capita's website
The Horrorscope FK was born as a late release limited edition board for 2008 and the entire global retail allotment sold out within hours of its release. The demand was so strong we made an extra run of boards for our favorite shop employees, and have now added two new wide boards to the line up for 09/10.

The reverse camber Flat Kick application means two things:
one: Pre-loaded positioning for expert level jibbers, and two: easy turnin?, mindless shreddin? for those intermediate riders that want to expedite the learning curve.

The Horrorscope FK: TAKES NO EFFORT! STABLE AT HIGH SPEEDS! PERFECT FOR HANGOVERS! JIB LIKE A MAD MAN!

I HAVE PICS, just PM me with email address.

$$$$$$ 500.00 OR BEST OFFER $$$$$$$$$$

I HAVE TO SELL THIS BOARD.

Need wide all mountain - freeride board!
Posted by: skuba - 03-09-2010, 12:45 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

Hi Guys,
I have a Lib Tech Mullet 165 (camber, not the new rocker one) that I bought a couple of years ago to ride Pow in Mammoth. The board is so good and rips on the groomers too.
But sometimes I wish it had a bit more flex, were a little shorter, and were a bit more playful. So I started looking for an all-mountain board that I can trust will ride powder up to 1ft. I would keep the mullet just for deeper powder days, 1ft+.

Have been vary curious on the new camber/rocket boards and found some options that have a wide version.

I am 6,1 ft, 185lbs, 12 boot size.

These are the ones I think might work:
- Never Summer Legacy-R
- Nitro Team Gullwing (although i heard some reviews referring to it as all mountain FREESTYLE??)
- Lib Tech Travis Rice C2 banana power - Altough I am worried 26cm of waist width might not be wide enough.
- Nidecker Megalight

Any other suggestions? How do they compare?

I will get one between 161 and 163

I really appreciate your input here.

Thanks

Yes, it is in the book Skiing Mechanics by John Howe. One time,
someone on the forum at BomberOnline (I think NateW) couldn't quite
get his head around it, so he derived it for himself and came up with
the same answer. In the process I believe he also proved the cosine
theorem! :-)

Jack's a moderator of the forums at www.bomberonline.com. You can usually find him there. I'm very active there as well. He's
also written a bunch of articles for the website aimed at helping beginner carvers get going.
