landing 360
#16
Yeah maybe, but also alot of people get messed op on those too, creating doubel confusion. Only this year I know which way a frontside boardslide is and which way a backside boardslide is.

ok ok shit shit shit. i know all of the directions but i was infering a front foot spin. when you lean way wayyyyy forward into your spin. if your doing a frontside rotation (counter clockwise) you can jump off your toe edge.

front side spin (counter clockwise)

backside spin (clockwise)

backside _________ on a rail. you are aproching the rail from an angle (staircase handrailing) and the rail is to your back.

front side _________on a rail. you are aproching the rail from the side again but its infront of you. so if you are regular then you would be comming from the left side of the rail.

That`s wrong. It is called backside or frontside because of the way you spin. Frontside = you start to spin forwards (towards your frontside). Backside = you start spin backwards (towards your backside).

Rails, likewise, are frontside or backside based on THE WAY YOU ARE FACING ON THE RAIL, not the angle you approach the rail at. I can do a rail backside or frontside approaching from either side of the jump, so your explanation does not hold water.

As for your clockwise/counter-clockwise explanation, that is right if you are regular - it's opposite if you are talking about a goofy rider.

And I`ve never ever heard of, or seen anyone spin anything frontside off of their toes. It might be possible to get a 180, but anything bigger would be very difficult as it would not be a smooth rotation.

Isn't it (for a regular stanced rider):

Frontside 180: counter clockwise rotation, from your heel edge
Backside 180: clockwise rotation, from your toe edge

Frontside boardslide: sliding with your back going first
Backside boardslide: sliding with you facing the way you're going

If you're approaching a rail and it's in front of you, pop and turn frontside (see Frontside 180) and slide like a Backside boarslide, it's then called a Frontside lipslide...

At least that's the way things were in the skateboard world when I was younger...

"Backside: The backside of the snowboard is the side where the heels rest; and the backside of the snowboarder is the side to which his/her back faces.

Backside Rotation: Rotating clockwise for a regular-footer......and rotating counter-clockwise for a goofy-footer (e.g.. backside 360) note: When riding switch-stance the exact reverse applies and a regular-footer will rotate counter-clockwise and a goofy-footer will rotate clockwise`."

so if i just take off on heelside(seems easier to spin frontside for me) turn my head and shoulder and then look for the landing the 360 will work better? The couple 360's i've done were off this 2 or 3 foot step up thing but it melted now the only jumps is a 20-25ft table top so i'm a little nervous to spin off it.

Why do you think that? You have no good explanation. Prove it to me.

Well it would be easy to get the rotation on 20footer but I wouldn't suggest trying that until you can land 3s consistently on a smaller jump.

Your making me confused.

Backside 180 (for regular/left foot forward) is spinning off your heel edge. You can see your landing all the way through the spin. You are facing downhill once you do a 90.

Frontside 180 (for regular/left foot forward) is spinning off your toe edge. You cannot see your landing making it alot harder. You are facing uphill when you do a 90.

i was pretty sure frontside you come off your heeledge and once you get to 90 degrees your facing forward facing landing spinning counter clockwise if regular stance. Same thing but spinning clockwise if goofy.

Backside would be the opposite coming off toe edge at 90 degrees your back words facing the take off spinning clockwise. Same thing but spinning counter clockwise if goofy.

I'm right i checked online end of argument.

Yes, you did.

I don't know why there is so much confusion about this. I have explained it in the simplest terms I can possible think of, I have provided another source that confirms what I have been saying.

Why would spinning forwards be called a backside spin?

Why would spinning backwards be called a frontside spin?
