Yes, Vermont is definitely a chill place and it explains your distaste for burton. I imagine they've saturated the state the way Starbucks has overrun Seattle.

Anyway, getting back on the summer thread... You gonna go hit the mountains in NZ next summer or what? I'm trying to concoct a plan to get there to ride the cats at Mt. Potts.

Haha the Burton influence is worse down in NJ then it is in Vermont, mostly because in Vermont, in general, more people know what they're doing, and they don't think Burton is the god of all things snowboard. Rome has quite the large presence up there, and it makes me happy Big Grin

Ride in NZ? Maybe after I'm out of the poor college student phase of my life. I'm more worried about how to make my next couple car insurance payments :p
hahaha I've just started the poor university student phase, had 6000$ saved up and I'm already down too 2000$ . This whole "education" thing better be worth it Smile .

I just turned the "big" 2-9 last week.

I'm not sure what kind of cool new abilities that comes with, though. Probably none.

the ability to be 1 year away from the big 3-0
lego Wrote:the ability to be 1 year away from the big 3-0

How's that an ability? That sucks. :p

Yes, yes it does.
So what are you guys up to? I got up to the good old Green Mountain state a week ago. It feels good to be back, even if it means I have to take classes again :p
started my senior year today, finally. woo.

lots of art classes and only 3 academic type classes.
should be a decent year.
i just hope it makes winter come sooner, since i wont be sitting around waiting for it so much, although a bad day of school makes me wish i could pack up and head to the resort right after school. unfortunatly, that is hard to do when it is still fall...

justin, you're extremely lucky to be in vermont. i think i should have stuck with original plans to go to school there!
because its only the best state..ever. especially up by stowe.

Where are you going?

I should be able to make the trip up to Jay Peak in mid-November...hopefully before I have to go home for Thanksgiving.

im going to SUNY fredonia. roughly an hour south from the buffalo area.
not close enough to vermont, but im not ready to leave my home mountain for good. hah. its too much fun with friends.

i definitely plan on living in upstate NY or vermont afterwords though. possibly albany so i can get a city job as a graphic designer / photographer. unless i get lucky and get my dream job for a snowboard company.
who knows.

Very cool. Burlington is only a few hours from Albany. I'm pretty sure I looked into a SUNY school as well during that whole process, but I can't remember which one.

Speaking of mountains...I've decided not to get a pass to Stowe this year, for 2 reasons.

1. Just to mix it up
2. I can get a "double major" pass (thats the mountain trying to be clever) to Jay Peak and Bolton Valley. And yes, that pass is almost half the price of Stowe. No brainer there.

Thats the way it was last year. Unfortunately, this year they decided to make it a triple major pass. I say unfortunately because that third mountain is none other than Mad River Glen, which some of you may recognize as a skiers only mountain. So I'm paying for a third mountain that I can't even go to. Weak.

And its still about $125 cheaper than Stowe :p
Wow, I've been gone for awhile. And it is still rather dead around here!

How about the warm weather up in Vermont? High of 67 today? This sucks...

Oh, and Happy Halloween!
it is quite dead.

this weather is pretty depressing. its in the 60s here as well.
it could have snowed sunday night, it was 29 out. but of course, clear skies.
Holy Shit!
